Three Alaps in His Name

“I Want To Know What Love Is”

John 3:16-17
"16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

“Knowledge without understanding is like truth without caring . . .

. . . Like knowing the words but not their meaning . . .

. . . . . Like having a heart but without feeling . . .

. . . . . . Open your heart, it will open  your eyes

. . . . . . . Protect you with truth from corrupting lies

. . . . . . . . Take a deep breath, you are not alone

. . . . . . . . . Heaven awaits, this is not your home

Do you know what love is?  Jesus is love.

Do you know what Truth is?  The Holy Ghost is Truth sent in love’s name, Christ Jesus, the Word made Flesh.

Do you know what Righteousness is?  Righteousness is God, The Word; for He is the only one capable of delivering justice evenly, including forgiveness, which comes through love, Christ Jesus, delivered by Truth, the Holy Ghost.

There is only one reason man would turn away from such a pure and fulfilling source of existence – and that reason is self.

How many times I have heard “I still want this out of this world” or “I’m not ready to go yet, I still want to do this or that . . .” and “There’s no reason why I can’t have what they have . . .” – And other similar arguments.

Showing the love of Christ to your fellow man is a painstaking discipline under affliction.  It is not easy nor should you be deterred from sharing the truth or the love of Christ.    Truth is love exercised whereas lying is a self-preserving act with no long term benefit to either the giver or the receiver; an act where both sides are the victims in the long run.

Even Christ when he was with us in the flesh had little patience for lies; for he knew their recipients would be victims and he loved people – even those who lied if they were willing to learn that it was wrong.

The world is becoming an increasingly ugly place.  The scripture will be fulfilled.  There is nothing they are doing that is hidden from God.  There is a script within the script that only one can read.  Those of ill intent don’t even feel the scroll unrolling.

There is a man who has died once for our sins and who defeated death.  He went before us and we will follow when we are called.

There is another anointed who’s role was set, written in the books before Jesus became flesh – only those who looked for him would have seen him before he was taken out of the way.

We know God is God.  He never changes.  We know he who came as the Word made Flesh bore the name and the law.  He was the book.  He was the deliverer of that Word to a people who had forgotten his name.

We know that as The Word, he was in the beginning with God and was God.

We know one was caught up unto God and to his throne.  We know that Christ will give unto him the morning star, as his Father gave him.

We know that he will overcome because it is written, and we know because of them, through Him sorrow will end.

If ever a soul craved a presence as the very life and light of its existence, I so long to be with Him . . . and if anything more could be as exquisite a longing, it is that you be right there with me when this glorious restoration takes place.

If I could give a fraction of what was shown to me, the beauty of this place that is to come, I would see you walking toward the open arms of love, who’s last act as a human being was to die for you, so that you could live.

I would give my life for him and he knows it.  Being with him is all that matters.

I love you God the father, God the son and God the Holy Ghost.  Please give us strength to endure until all You have written is done.

I wanted to share this with you, from back in 2011.  Truth, love, delusion and you.

RE-Post from 2011, “Show Me The Way

Truth, Love and Delusion

In the focus of his mission he never had the luxury of the knowledge of just how magnificent he was; a beautiful yet fearsome creature, and powerful yet obedient.  The intense energy he exuded was enough to knock a man backwards in tears.  Under direction that power could disintegrate you.

He was crouched down, one knee to the surface.  His right arm braced him as his left draped over the thigh of his left leg.  He turned toward the director with an almost anguished expression.

Truth, sitting in his chair was watching him.  He simply closed his eyes and slowly shook his head no.  Truth understood Love’s impatience, but it was not yet time.

Love stood slowly, still looking down and not at all happy with what he was seeing.  He knew it was not yet time. The stage for now, was given to another.  The anger pent up within him shook the realm where he stood.  Truth looked over at him again.  His expression was of patient admiration.  How he adored him and his faithfulness.

In the years before the stage was set, Love walked among them, first adored, then ridiculed, then hated.  Only a remnant remembered his grace before his swift and sudden fall.  What they didn’t know was that his fall was nothing more than an escape through a veil to another act in the drama.  Most believed an encore was being planned when in actuality it was the finale that was yet to come.

Truth looked down and saw what upset Love.  It was not any easier for him.  Both knew what they were waiting for.  All the numbers had to be complete.  It was an act of art but also an act of engineering.  Not one would be left out. All the gears had to be in place and engaged for the mechanism to be operational and for the mission to be fulfilled.

Down on the ground another was being prepared, the one whom for a time, the stage was given.  The one called Delusion.  The father of lies.  He paced behind the curtain.  He was nervous, excited and bright with anticipation, but he was a shell of a counterfeit compared the Truth’s main character.  This one just didn’t know it.  He was nothing but a jealous ghost from an old war, but he did plan to put on a good show.

The one behind the curtain rehearsed his opening.  He would be good enough to fool some . . . maybe millions, but not all.  His moves were sharp, his delivery crisp and his sound impeccable . . . but he still was no comparison to Love, whom he minted himself to be.  Only eyes that see and ears that hear will be able to detect the difference.

Love watched from his position the beast behind the curtain.  Truth kept his eyes on the world stage.  He trusted Love for it WAS Truth, who’s suffering was behind him.  Truth knew that Love now cried for the suffering of others.

Neither could barely wait for the last cry, from the last of their numbers.

Truth stood.  He walked over to Love and put a hand on his shoulder.  Love sighed, head hung.  He knelt down again to one knee, to watch the drama.

Truth walked away.  Down on the ground he saw one of his likeness, in a dwelling, looking for answers.  Truth stretched out his hand until it reached into the heart of the being in his likeness.

Below, the being stopped. The mouth fell open as the being heard the words “like a child”.

Tears welled up then fell over the lashes.  The heart opened like a flower and love filled it with understanding.

The being fell to their knees and against the seat of a chair bowed their head into their hands.   Its cries, like that of a child who just saw a parent they thought had died, wafted upward until it reached the ears of Truth.

Truth’s face softened as tears formed in his own eyes.  Gently he sent love back down to the being crying into the seat of the chair, praying.

A gentle smile softened Truth’s face as he looked toward Love, who heard the cries.  Love smiled as he slowly stood up.  He loved them as Truth did.

Truth and Love looked into each other’s eyes.  Love was barely able to contain his joy.  The time was so close.

Truth raised his hand.  He spread his fingers.  Love watched, smile gone, intense focus replacing it.

Slowly, Truth began folding each finger toward the palm one at a time, counting down.

As the forefinger was left, Truth looked toward Love, hesitated, then pointed toward the stage.

Love gave Truth one last look before taking the stage.

This is it.

The final curtain call . . .

Of Delusion and Love, only one will be left on the stage when the show is over.  And at that time they shall know Truth.

Everyone's taken control of me
seems like the world has a role for me
I'm so confused won't you show to me
You'll be there for me
And care enough to bear me

Show Me The Way
Take me tonight to the river
and wash my confusion away

You Are Not Alone
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
Then forever can begin . . .

Love did not slip away.
It has been beat up a bit but . . .
Love conquers all - Jesus proved that
And it's why I will never give up

"Agape (/ˈæɡəpiː/[1] or /ˈæɡəpɪ/;[2] Classical Greek: γάπη, agápē; Modern Greek: αγάπη IPA: [aˈɣapi]), often translated "unconditional love", is one of the Koine Greek words translated into English as "love", one which became particularly appropriated in Christian theology as the love of God or Christ for humankind." - Source, Wikipedia

"A journalist of Time Magazine has described John 3:16 as "one of the most famous and well-known Bible verses. It has been called the 'Gospel in a nutshell' because it is considered a summary of the central doctrines of Christianity."[5] The verb translated "loved" in this verse is γάπησεν (ēgapēsen), past tense of "agapaō"." - Source,

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Agape received a broader usage under later Christian writers as the word that specifically denoted "Christian" love or "charity" (1 Corinthians 13:1–8), or even God himself (1 John 4:8, θες γάπη στίν, "God is Love").   The term agape is rarely used in ancient manuscripts, but was used by the early Christians to refer to the self-sacrificing love of God for humanity, which they were committed to reciprocating and practicing towards God and among one another.

Agape has been expounded on by many Christian writers in a specifically Christian context. C. S. Lewis, in his book The Four Loves, used agape to describe what he believed was the highest level of love known to humanity – a selfless love, a love that was passionately committed to the well-being of the other." - Source,

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.   8. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.   9. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him."

"The Christian usage of the term agape comes almost directly from the canonical Gospels' accounts of the teachings of Jesus. When asked what was the great commandment, "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40_." - Source,

"Tertullian, in his 2nd century defense of Christians, remarks how Christian love attracted pagan notice: "What marks us in the eyes of our enemies is our loving kindness. 'Only look,' they say, 'look how they love one another' " (Apology 39).

Anglican theologian O.C. Quick cautions however that this agape within human experience is "a very partial and rudimentary realization," and that "in its pure form it is essentially divine." Quick suggests that,

If we could imagine the love of one who loves men purely for their own sake, and not because of any need or desire of his own, purely desires their good, and yet loves them wholly, not for what at this moment they are, but for what he knows he can make of them because he made them, then we should have in our minds some true image of the love of the Father and Creator of mankind.[7]" - Source,

I pray every day for I am still raw, clinging to that love first shown to me in answer to a prayer five years ago.  With every onslaught and affliction it gets harder; yet He has not given up on me because the tribulations have only grown.

He can cause them to stomp me into the ground and I will still love Him.
